Do you know what life mentoring is and what it entails? Relax; it is okay if you do not. Many people do not have much experience, if any at all, with a lifestyle coach. It is a relatively new field but the principles behind mentoring have long been used in the workplace. You simply take someone with more knowledge and experience and pair him or her up with someone who does not have as much experience, with the hope that the individual learns some new life or business skills.
There is not any really big secret to life mentoring. It just requires that the mentor has experience and effective coaching skills and techniques. It may be someone in a business field with years of experience in sales and he or she is instructing new business people in the tricks of the trade. The mentor uses practical advice, experience and leadership in the role he or she is playing.
Perhaps it is better to call these individuals motivational speakers rather than life mentors because they are trying to help people achieve goals on their own. They want to share their past experiences that have shaped them into better people. Take for example someone like Lance Armstrong.
He survived cancer and wants to let the world know that you do not have to let cancer beat you. It is possible to achieve great things even when life is attempting to wear you down. Another example is a youth pastor who wants to share his or her own life choices and experiences. He or she wants to be a good example for their group of kids.
The goal of coaching people is to motivate them. It is about being a good lifestyle coach so that you can lead by example. It would not do any good for a drug dealer to expound upon the evils of using drugs when he or she is pedaling narcotics. It takes living the life of a good person in order to show others how to live that same motivated lifestyle.
Life mentoring can be a rewarding career. You have the ability to help out those who are having trouble in their own lives. You are helping them achieve personal goals and make a better quality of life for themselves. Coaching people is something that many people want to do because it gives them a sense of purpose and a way to show others that impossible situations can be overcome. There is hope and triumph that can be had from any experience.

It is a sad situation when this happens……but as I raised my kids, I told them the kids they hang out with will impact how they are perceived as well. A mentor is a person who has great influence on you, your ethics, morals…..so if your mentor turns out to a negative force in your character you do need to make a hard choice about how you want to be perceived with this association. It is a problem, but it is a reality that impacts all of us….from kids choosing their friends up to presidential candidates choosing their pastors…and presidents choosing their advisers.
My best friend's mother. My parents owned a bar and left me to fend for myself. The bar didn't close until 1 a.m. and even though i was given rules to follow, I did what I wanted to do–like any other teenager would have. My best friend's mother took me under her wing and encouraged me to stay with them as much as possible, which is what I did. Without her influence I would never have grown up to be the woman that I am today. My best friend died when we were 38, followed about 10 years later by her father, and then later on by her mother. They're all gone and so are my parents. But here I stand thanks to the goodness of those people who took me in, raised me, and protected me. Their love meant a lot to me.
Again reading your name. No matter what i say you wont like obama.
And give me thumbs down and pick a blind follow that agrees with you as the best answer.
Hi,
a first step you could take and that is cost free is to go to
http://www.hayhouseradio.com/
24 hour broadcast of life shows with coaches of any kind. You can call in toll free and speak to one of them directly.
Secondly, you might have no money but you can always try to think about something you could offer in return for the service of a coach, ask what they need. There are a lot of small things they might like to trade in.
Thirdly, think about coaches who are still in training and who offer pro bono sessions in order to get more experience.
Hope this helps
My FATHER! When i was just a little girl my ex-mother left and my father was stuck to raising three kids by himself. we were dirt poor and lived in a little two room cabin with no running water. MY daddy used to have to rake leaves for money to eat with. But no matter how poor we were he made life wonderful. He never gave up. And he made life for us the best he could. I love my father so much for sticking with us and never ever giving up on me or my brothers. He is a wonderful father.
I could go on and on about how extrordinary he is. He built a wonderful life for me. He is my shining light. I love him so much.
Who is a professional with only two years of experience? That sounds like anyone could be a pro in that line of work. Start Reading the right books(which are secrets but available and read by anyone) and trying your own thing. Make you mentor someone who you regard as the most successful person you can think of. The right books I am talking about are sometimes referred to as the "success classics"
All people love their fathers, but not all people admire their fathers. A mentor is someone who reinforces the ideals or values you hold dear. They teach through experience. They can be that imovable object when you start falling backwards. In short, without a father figure or mentor you can easily lose the values you sought to uphold. You can lose yourself if you don't know how to believe in yourself.
You are a grown as* man. It come down to your choice. I have friends and my mom. I value their opinion but in the end it's my choice.
